We champion Sustainability
It's our responsibility to leave the earth better than we found it. We don't stop at sustainable clothing, we campaign for sustainability across the fashion industry and beyond.
Our Positive Impact
Our Commitments
Invest in yourself
We create contemporary collections that are stylish and timeless. With quality embedded in every stitch, each piece is beautiful and meaningful, designed to be treasured for years to come.
Become zero-waste
Our waste should not end up impacting our planet. We have designed our garments to utilise as much of the fabric as possible, reducing the quantity of fabric that is wasted and thrown away. We don't throw away scraps — we use them for something else.
Be kinder to you skin
Thousands of toxic chemicals are used in traditional clothes manufacturing, posing a huge problem to our health when absorbed through our skin. Onesta refuses to produce clothes using harmful fabrics such as polyester or nylon. The fabrics we use are organic and kind to the skin, so you can look good and feel good without worrying about your health.
Ethical supply chain
For too long the fashion industry has profited at the expense of others – this needs to change. We are challenging the status quo of the fashion industry to ensure that, throughout our supply chain, we value all lives and our environment, and work only with suppliers who share these values.
Give back
We believe in helping others achieve their goals, that’s why we donate 2% of all sales to charity. The charities we have selected are close to our heart, as they are working tirelessly to make a positive difference to the textiles industry and our planet.
UK made
Onesta is proud to be Welsh and proud to be bringing manufacturing back to the UK. The textile industry is very much within Great Britain’s DNA with a rich heritage in garment making. We have a huge sense of pride in what we are able to produce in the UK.
OUR PACKAGING
As part of our commitment to making a positive impact on the environment, we use only biodegradable and compostable packaging.
Here’s what’s so good about the packaging we use:
Our mailer bags are made from plant-based materials (fine for compost bin!)
Our packaging uses non-toxic adhesives only
Our packaging uses vegetable and water-based inks
Our tissue paper is eco-friendly
Our swing tags are made from innovative seed paper
We only work with suppliers who use a closed loop system in their fabric manufacturing process to limit water wastage.
WATER CONSUMPTION
Keeping our oceans and conscience clean
60% of garments are made from synthetic microplastic fibres called polyester that can take decades to degrade in the ocean, affecting both marine life and humans.
On top of that, fashion is the second largest consumer of water worldwide. It takes around 2,000 gallons of water to make a typical pair of jeans — that's enough water for one person to drink eight cups per day for 10 years.
At Onesta, we use natural, innovative fabrics made without harsh chemicals that are safe to wash. They require less water to process and are coloured with low-impact and water-soluble dyes.
LOOKING AFTER EACH OTHER
We Respect All Lives
The textile industry is in need of change.
Far too many people working in the garment industry worldwide are at risk of being seriously injured or developing life-threatening diseases.
Workers are losing access to basic human rights like clean water, healthy foods, health care, education, adequate housing, and even clean air to breathe.
We believe that a living wage should not only cover basic needs for families, but enable them to afford medical treatment, childcare, proper housing, transportation, healthy food, and education — without sacrificing their savings. We also advocate and require safe and healthy working conditions, regulated working hours, and statutory entitlements like holidays, sick leave, and maternity leave.
At Onesta, we believe in protecting the lives of all animals. We only work with suppliers who share our values and are actively against animal cruelty and animal testing.
We do not use any animal products in our clothing.
Giving Back
Plant a tree with every order
Another way we give back is by using seed paper for our swing tags. They’re made from recycled paper and wildflower or grass seeds — simply plant them in your garden and watch them grow. An extra little gift from us to you and the earth.
Plus, did you know that we are part of an Eco-Alliance, which means we are contributing to global reforestation one tree at a time? To date, we have planted trees in the Amazon Rainforest and Kenya.
